Road Trip

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Thursday Pat and I got to go on a little trip to LA.  We stopped by Choke, which is an awesome motorcycle/moped/scooter/coffee shop, and finally got to take it all in.  They do it right, and the place has an amazing vibe to it.  I met Jeff the owner, and got to see him in action fixing mopeds, and running his business.  Choke has a decor of hand painted signs, and rad rusting 2 wheeled gems.  They have an esspresso machine, and serve great coffee.   From Choke we went down to visit Shaw and Colby.  The have a bunker of crazy projects.  The bikes and parts scattered around would make any pedder wet his or her pants.  I got to see Flynn’s Malossi Peugeot motor, and I am pretty stoked to see it finished.  It is a monster.  I won’t reveal the details, but if it is a cool french part, it is on there.   Shaw fired up his Puch chopper, and woke up the neihborhood blasting up and down the street.  He then revealed the secret powers of Parmakit and a Malossi 4 petal. Colby took us through a tour of the infamous shipping container, and I saw at least 3 bikes I had never seen before.  From there we went to hang with Brad drinking PBR’s in a hottub.   All and all it was one of the best moped trips I have had in a while.
